Application of Silicone Resin in Motors

As insulating varnish:

Impregnated coils: Organic silicon insulating varnish is used to impregnate the coils of the motor, filling the gaps and micropores between the coils and between the coils and the iron core, which can enhance the insulation performance and prevent short circuits between the coils and leakage between the coils and the iron core. The coils impregnated with organic silicon insulating varnish can still maintain good insulation effects in harsh environments such as high temperature and high humidity, ensuring the normal operation of the motor.

Forming an insulating coating: Coating on the surface of the metal parts of the motor, such as the surface of the stator and rotor core and the lead wires, forming a solid insulating coating to isolate electricity and prevent the motor from malfunctioning due to leakage during operation. This insulating coating also has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and can resist mechanical wear and chemical corrosion during long-term operation of the motor, thus extending the service life of the motor.

Used to make insulating materials:

Mica products: Silicone resin and mica can be combined to make mica tape, mica board and other insulating materials. Mica itself has good insulation properties and high temperature resistance, while silicone resin can enhance the adhesion and mechanical strength of mica materials, making it more suitable for use in the insulation structure of motors. For example, in high-voltage motors, mica tape is often used to wrap coils as the main insulating material, which can withstand higher voltages and temperatures. Glass fiber products: Glass fiber has high strength and heat resistance. After impregnating glass fiber cloth or glass fiber yarn with silicone resin, it can be made into motor casings, insulating windings and other parts. These glass fiber reinforced silicone resin products have good insulation properties and can withstand the mechanical stress generated during motor operation, ensuring the safe operation of the motor. Laminated plastics: Laminated plastics can be made by laminating materials such as glass cloth impregnated with silicone resin. This material has high heat resistance and mechanical strength, and can be used for motor slot wedge insulation, high-temperature relay housing, printed circuit boards and other parts, and can maintain stable performance in high temperature environments.

As potting material:

Protecting electronic components: The motor usually contains some electronic components, such as sensors, controllers, etc. Using silicone potting glue to pot these electronic components can play a role in waterproofing, moisture-proofing, shockproofing, and heat conduction, protecting the electronic components from the influence of the external environment. For example, in the drive motor of new energy vehicles, silicone potting glue is widely used to protect the electronic components inside the motor to ensure that the motor can operate stably in a complex working environment. Enhance the integrity of the motor: The internal structure of the potted motor is tighter, and the connection between the components is more firm, which can improve the integrity and shock resistance of the motor and reduce the wear and failure caused by vibration during the operation of the motor.

As adhesive:

Bonding motor parts: used to bond various parts in the motor, such as the laminations of the core, insulation materials and metal parts. Silicone resin adhesive has good bonding properties and high temperature resistance, which can ensure that the motor parts maintain a firm connection under high temperature and vibration environments.

Sealed motor: The motor casing is sealed to prevent dust, moisture and other impurities from entering the motor and affecting its normal operation. At the same time, the sealed motor can also reduce noise and improve the motor's operating efficiency.
